Villefort burns the letter as proof that he believes he is innocent. Yet, he is sent to prison IF. He does not know why, because he was not guilty. When he asks if he can talk to the prosecutor, the prison guards laugh him out ... Edmond Dantes is the protagonist in this exciting adventure story, he ends up in a dark dungeon and want to get away, he does not know what he is guilty.

The book is set in the 1815's.

My own opinion of the book:

The book begins with the principle that he ends up in a dungeon, a few years later, he is told that someone digs right next to his burrow. He knocks on the floor, a while later, he heard a voice saying: Who is knocking. Edmond then presents itself for this prisoner who tries to dig himself out. Since then the old man in Edmond's burrow. They decide to try to dig themselves out, and the old man tells of a treasure that they'll get when they come out, it is located on the island of Monte Cristo ...

The book is hard to put down, you would love to read clearly. When I finished reading the book, so I started with the second book, it's called Revenge.
