The first car was a three-wheeled steam carriage as the French engineer Joseph Cugnots uppfan in 1769. Maximum speed was at 5km / h and the engine could only go in one quarter at a time. During the 1700s, the car was not a car but more of an ornament.
In the early 1800s swung Richard Trevethick together a car that could run at max speed 14km / h Twenty years later, the buses had evolved to walk on steam. But then the vehicles are heavy and difficult to control. But went in 20km / h ändå.Olyckor occurred frequently, there were no laws either. 1844 a law came into force as a matter of motor-propelled vehicle would have a red flag, the law was repealed in 1896. 1860 took the Frenchman Jean Joseph Etienne Lenior oatent on an internal combustion engine, which was driven by lysgas. In 1863 took the engine of a car. Years before, they had tried to put an internal combustion engine but the car was in poor service.

Four-stroke engine did the French engineer Alphonse Eugène Beau De Rochas 1862. At engine there was a fuel mixture that reacted before ignition.
1878 revised engine and Nikolaus Otto Eugen Langen showed the latest model. During the year 1885 was presented versions of petrol engines from two different directions. One name was Deimler and the other was Carl Benz. That was when you could call the car for car. 1889 sounded Deimler produce a two-cylinder engine with 3.5 horsepower, equipped with a clutch and gearbox. Both this and later vehicles and Benz earlier designs were equipped with differential gears. The first four-wheel car model in the Benz redi built in 1893, he was the first known Velo added. The car was easy to manufacture because it produced a total of 135 pieces. Two designers, René Panhard and Emelie Living son considered one of Daimler's new car models in 1889 were very well designed, so they were going to use the same concept in more wagon-like version. The following year in 1890 did it a try which was not up to expectations, a car with kuggaxel and chainrings. The engine was two-cylinder and placed forward on the car, which made it safer in cornering. With a top speed became increasingly they began to experiment with alternative control systems that have so far been only one lever. 1898 introduced the wheel of one of Panhardmodellerna. Solutions also came to wheel suspension. Air Pumped wheel was better than tires with rubber ring around. 1886 produced a car with a planetary gear as a monocoque body of Frederick Lanchester.

One of bilhistoriens more dodgy car makes is enough Mercedes. Mercedes is named for the daughter of an Austrian consultant, Emil Jellinek. He held a selling account on Daimler's behalf and specialized their production to suit wealthy clients. In the 1900s, they started with the cars of the future. With sweeping shapes, drum brakes with brake shoes inside the drum, disc brakes and with spykern, front wheel drive. Many claim that the car's right story began with Henry Ford and his cars. It had manufactured cars in his own since 1903 and in October 1908 began Model T Ford sold. The car that revolutionized the industry. The car was adapted to every man's wallet. Every tenth production car sold was em Ford. In 1919 it launched a T-ford with the Coupé, which combined have sold incredible 15 million copies.

The first car race had its high seat in France. Of course it was there that the first biltävlningen world arranged. 21 different vehicle designs attended. The car that won diskvalifiserades due to violations of competition regulations regarding the design conditions. There was a carriage powered by steam that won. So instead attributed to a shared victory to the two that came after, taking a Peugeot and a Panhard. They came simultaneously after a journey of 126km / h At the beginning of the car's history, the car was more like an ornament, if you drove it so it did not go so fast. Seeing as the laws were not developed so it was very accidents, although we have a lot of accidents now. When the laws came the cars were more developed and went faster. Which is obvious even then that the laws came. The more cars that were produced, the more began to run them.
