Form of government
Nigeria has been a Federal Republic since 1999. Before, during most of the 80 th and 90 century was ruled Nigeria by the military.
Now they are a federal republic with a multiparty system.
They have two Parliament, just as the United States.
Nigeria is divided into 36 states, and also where, the same system as the United States, with the governors.
Nigeria has a very large population and is actually one of Africa's most densely populated countries.

Polygamy is lost in the whole country, as well as forced marriages of minors. Widows and childless women are discriminated against. People are persecuted sometimes because they are believed to engage in witchcraft. In some places still counts slave descendants to particular castes are discriminated against. Most Nigerians are working in agriculture.
Most grow for their own needs, with picks and the like.
They often burn down the forest at getting more land.
They grow best yams in the south and millet and sorghum in the north.
They are exporting cocoa and peanuts.
Fishing is conducted at the coasts and lakes. But the destruction of mangrove forests in Nigeria Delta is a threat to future fish stocks.
Nigeria is not a major industrialized country. Most of the industry's small-scale manufacturing industries, of which 60 percent are in Lagos and its environs.
