When I was younger I always wanted to visit USA. One of the states I wanted to visit was the interesting state of New Mexico.
Native Americans have been living in New Mexico for some twenty thousand years. the Pueblo, Apache, Comanche, Navajo, and Ute peoples were in the New Mexico region when Spanish settlers arrived in the 1600s.
New Mexico became the 47th state in 1912. What a state! Three different cultures, Indian, Spanish and American, united together.
Where ever you go, whatever you do, you will always feel it. If you are in the mood for spanish, you visit Mureau of New Mexico located in the Palace of Governors on the historic Plaza in Santa Fe, built in 1610, it’s one of the oldest public buildings in America. If you want Indian culture go to Mureau of International Folk Art and the Museum of Indian arts and culture, or the private Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.
That was something for your soul – now, something for your stomach, great food.
Taco and Salsa, the most sold food in the world. Have you ever tasted chorizo, fajitas or sopaipilla? If not, you’ve really missed something…
After all the great dishes it’s time to relax. How about Aztec ruins national monument or the Bandelier national monument? The Aztek ruins were ones a multi-story pueblo of about 400 rooms, built and occupied by the Anasazi Indians hundreds of years ago. The word “Pueblo” is used to describe a group of people, a town, or an architectural style, there are 19 Pueblo groups that speak 4 distinct languages. The Bandelier national contains prehistoric Indian ruins, including cliffruins that extended for 2 miles. And in the evening, what du you say about opera or theatre? About 15 community theaters operate troughout the state, they present exellent musicals and plays. The performance center are smaller theaters that present contemporary and experimental works.
If you are not in the mood for that, what about dance? You will find country dansers who can help you with salsa in nigthclubs, as well as finely performed ballet.
A lot to choose from, what a fiesta!

Before Land of Enchantment became the state slogan, New Mexico went by the nickname The Sunshine State–based on the fact that every part of New Mexico receives at least 70 percent sunshine year-round.
With a state as large as New Mexico, though, climate varies considerably from one place to the next. Snowfall ranges from less than 2 inches annually in the lower Rio Grande Valley to as much as 300 inches in the mountains of north-central New Mexico.
Communities at higher elevations tend to be cooler throughout the year. Be prepared for cold weather in the winter and bring a sweater or heavy jacket in the spring and fall.

New Mexico is located in the southwest fg US. It’s one of the four corner states. Bordering at the same point with Colorado, Utah and Arizona. New Mexico’s border states are; Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
